Severe Weather Warning
for damaging surf
for people in the Northern Rivers and Mid North Coast forecast districts
Issued at 3:59 pm EST on Saturday 25 May 2013.
VERY HEAVY SURF OVER THE NORTHERN RIVERS AND MID NORTH COAST IS EXPECTED TO EASE GRADUALLY DURING SATURDAY.
A complex low pressure centred off the NSW Mid North Coast to the east of Lord Howe Island is moving away to the east-southeast. A high pressure system is extending a ridge over NSW from the west.
Very heavy surf which may lead to localised damage and coastal erosion is forecast for the Northern Rivers forecast district and parts of the Mid North Coast forecast district. Beach conditions in these areas could be dangerous and people should stay well away from the surf and surf exposed areas.
