Severe Weather Warning
for heavy rainfall
for people in the Northern Rivers and Mid North Coast forecast districts
Issued at 5:17 am EDT on Monday 2 February 2015.
Heavy Rain for northern parts of Mid North Coast and Northern Rivers.
A slow-moving low pressure trough lies through northeastern New South Wales.
Thunderstorms and showers which may lead to FLASH FLOODING are forecast for the Northern Rivers and Mid North Coast forecast districts.
Coffs Harbour has recorded 52mm in 1 hour to 4:30am.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
- Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
- Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
- If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
For emergency help in floods and storms, ring your local SES Unit on 132 500.
The next warning will be issued by 11:00 am EDT Monday.
