Monsoonal west to northwesterly winds extend across the coastal waters. The monsoon trough over central NT is moving northwards and will be located across the southern Gulf of Carpentaria and southern Timor Sea on Friday and across the central Gulf of Carpentaria and Top End north coast on Saturday. A weak low may form in the Gulf of Carpentaria during the weekend.
