Initial Minor Flood Warning for the Katherine River

Flood Warning Number: 1

Catchments in the Katherine River have received over 100mm in the past 3 days from monsoonal conditions across the Top End. Many parts of the Katherine River have received over 50mm since 9am Monday morning.

Katherine River Gorge Road:

Minor flooding is expected along the Katherine River Gorge Road.

The Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre is currently at 2.85 metres and steady. The river level is expected to exceed the minor flood level for Katherine River Gorge Road (3.00 m) late Tuesday morning. The Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre is likely to remain below 4.50 metres during Tuesday.
