About Tide Predictions
- The times stated are in Standard Time (24 hour clock). During
Daylight Saving Time (when in force) one hour needs to be added
to the times stated.
- All predicted tide heights are in metres above Prediction Datum.
- Prediction Datum is a low water datum, which is some distance
below Australian Height Datum, which is a Mean Sea Level datum.
- The tide predictions for the Standard Ports are based on
sea level observations, hence the tide needs to be estimated between
the Standard Ports.
- For Information on the Tide Gauges used to determine the tide predictions,
please see the Tide Gauge Metadata. Access to monthly
statistics of the sea level observations is also available via this link.
- Please see the cautionary note
regarding meteorological conditions and seasonal variations.
