What 1196 services provide: Each Telstra 1196 Weather Service provides the current temperature, a list of current severe weather warnings and a 1-2 day forecast for a single population centre. All information originates from the Bureau of Meteorology and is provided through the service provider Legion Interactive.

How to access services: Dialling 1196 from anywhere in Australia will automatically connect you to the service closest to you. It is not possible to access 1196 information for other population centres.
