Project Implementation PartnersThe Australian Government is administering and funding the Project through the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID).The Project Implementation Partners for Phase IV are:
2. Geoscience Australia (Canberra, Australia), as the scientific and technical counterpart providing assistance in the surveying and CGPS activities. 3. SOPAC (Suva, Fiji), as the regional counterpart agency assisting in enhancing the future sustainability of sea level monitoring in the Pacific with personnel involved in supporting the operation, maintenance and surveying aspects of the Project. SOPAC will also host the position and role of Regional Coordination and Communications Advisor. 4. AusAID (Canberra, Australia), as the Project Sponsor providing governance on project performance against the Project’s objectives, guidance on development policy, decisions on Project scope, and audit oversight. AusAID will also establish and maintain the formal government to government arrangements with the participating Pacific Island countries. The Bureau of Meteorology will also engage the assistance of SPREP (Apia, Samoa), as the regional focus for environmental matters associated with climate change and variability, and the respective National Meteorological Services as the main contact agencies in the Pacific Island countries and providers of first-in maintenance on behalf of the Bureau of Meteorology, Geoscience Australia and SOPAC. |
