128 km Albany Radar Loop

The Albany radar will be offline from early February 2019 for approximately 12 weeks. This will be necessary to upgrade the radar to Doppler capability, which will lead to better detection of rainfall and hail, and 24 hour uninterrupted operations when completed. We realise that this may be an inconvenience, but unfortunately we can't put a replacement in for this period. Weather warnings and forecasts will still be produced for the Albany area, and satellite imagery with lightning detection can be used to track storms in the area. This upgrade is being funded by the WA Government Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.
