Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will move northwards today before a weak cold front brushes Tasmania at night. On Tuesday a new high will move from south of the Bight towards Tasmania then it will remain slow moving near Tasmania through until Thursday. A weak inland low pressure trough will dip into northern Victoria on Tuesday then persist until Thursday.

Forecast for the rest of Monday

Fine. A mainly sunny day. Very warm to hot with light to moderate northeast to northerly winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes.

Forest Fire Danger: High reaching very high in the northwest.

Forecast for Tuesday

Fine apart from the chance of afternoon thundery showers about the ranges. A mainly sunny day. Hot inland with light winds, milder near the coast with afternoon sea breezes.

Forecast for Wednesday

Fine apart from the chance of afternoon thunderstorms on the northeast ranges. Hot in the north but milder in the south with afternoon coastal sea breezes.

Forecast for Thursday

Fine apart from the chance of afternoon thunderstorms on the dividing ranges. Hot in the north but milder in the south with light to moderate southeasterly wind and afternoon coastal sea breezes.
