Intensity: category 2, sustained winds near the centre of 95 kilometres per hour with wind gusts to 130 kilometres per hour.
Location: within 65 kilometres of 13.8 degrees South, 92.1 degrees East , 550 kilometres west southwest of Cocos Island .
Movement: west southwest at 22 kilometres per hour .

Tropical Cyclone Uriah lies well to the west of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands. It will continue to move steadily to the southwest away from the Cocos (Keeling) Islands as it gradually intensifies.
