Details of Tropical Cyclone Uriah at 8:00 pm AWST:

Intensity: category 1, sustained winds near the centre of 65 kilometres per hour with wind gusts to 95 kilometres per hour.
Location: within 55 kilometres of 12.7 degrees South, 94.0 degrees East , 315 kilometres west of Cocos Island .
Movement: west southwest at 16 kilometres per hour .

Tropical Cyclone Uriah lies well to the west of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands and is moving steadily to the southwest away from the Cocos (Keeling) Islands. Winds and rain will ease over the Cocos (Keeling) Islands overnight.


Hazards:

Gusty winds and rain over the Cocos (Keeling) Islands will ease overnight as the system moves further away from the islands.


Recommended Action:

The Australian Federal Police advise that an ALL CLEAR WITH CAUTION has been issued for communities on Home and West Island. Gusty winds and heavy rainfall are likely to continue for the remainder of Saturday and people should take care to avoid dangers caused by any damage.
