A Strong Wind Warning is current for Southeast Gulf Waters. A Strong Wind Warning has been issued for Northeast Gulf Waters, north of Crab Island, for Sunday.

Weather Situation

A high pressure system [1031 hPa] over the Great Australian Bight extends a firm ridge across Gulf of Carpentaria waters. The high will move slowly east towards the Tasman Sea by early in the week.

Southeast Gulf, South of Cape Keer-Weer:

A Strong Wind Warning is current.

Saturday until midnight: Winds: Southeasterly 25 to 30 knots, decreasing to 20 to 25 knots early in the afternoon and to 15 to 20 knots late afternoon. Seas: 3 metres, decreasing to 1.7 to 2.2 metres in the afternoon. Swell: Less than 1.5 metres.

Sunday: Winds: Southeasterly 20 to 25 knots, decreasing to 15 to 20 knots during the afternoon. Seas: 2.2 metres, decreasing to 1.7 metres during the afternoon. Swell: Less than 1.5 metres.

Monday: Winds: East to southeasterly 20 to 25 knots, decreasing to 15 to 20 knots during the afternoon.

A Strong Wind Warning has been issued for Sunday.

Saturday until midnight: Winds: Southeasterly 15 to 20 knots, reaching 20 to 25 knots over far southwest waters this morning. Winds increasing to 20 to 25 knots north of Cullen Point during the evening. Seas: 1.7 to 2.2 metres. Swell: Less than 1.5 metres. Isolated showers.

Sunday: Winds: Southeasterly 20 to 25 knots, reaching 25 to 30 knots north of Crab Island. Winds decreasing to 15 to 20 knots inshore south of Cullen Point in the afternoon. Seas: 1.7 to 2.2 metres, reaching 3 metres north of Crab Island. Swell: Less than 1.5 metres. Isolated showers.

Monday: Winds: East to southeasterly 20 to 25 knots, reaching 25 to 30 knots north of Crab Island.
