Weather Situation

A high pressure system near Tasmania extends a ridge along the coast of Queensland. The high will strengthen as it moves slowly east, maintaining the firm ridge for the next few days.

Southeast Gulf, South of Cape Keer-Weer:

Monday until midnight: Winds: E to NE 10 to 15 knots tending variable 5 to 10 knots this afternoon with inshore sea breezes. Seas: 1.2 metres. Swell: Less than 1.5 metres. Isolated showers.

Tuesday: Winds: SE to NE 15 to 20 knots early, decreasing to 10 to 15 knots by mid day. Inshore afternoon sea breezes. Seas: 1.2 metres. Swell: Less than 1.5 metres. Isolated showers.

Wednesday: Winds: E to SE 20 to 25 knots early decreasing to 15 to 20 knots by mid day.

Thursday: Winds: E to SE 20 to 25 knots early easing to 15 to 20 knots by the afternoon.

Monday until midnight: Winds: North of Cullen Point: E to SE 20 to 25 knots. South of Cullen Point: E to SE 15 to 20 knots, decreasing to 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon with inshore afternoon W'ly sea breezes at 10 to 15 knots. Seas: 1.2 to 1.7 metres, reaching 2.2 metres at times in the north. Swell: Less than 1.5 metres. Isolated showers.

Tuesday: Winds: North of Cullen Point: E to SE 20 to 25 knots. South of Cullen Point: E to SE 15 to 20 knots, decreasing to SE 10 to 15 knots during the afternoon before increasing back to E to SE 15 to 20 knots during the evening. Seas: 1.2 to 1.7 metres, reaching 2.2 metres in the north. Swell: Less than 1.5 metres. Isolated showers.

Wednesday: Winds: SE to E winds 25 to 30 knots north of Cullen Point. SE to E winds 20 to 25 knots remainder easing to 15 to 20 knots in the afternoon.
