Weather Situation

A weak monsoon trough is currently located over Papua New Guinea and is near stationary. Another weak trough extends into the Mount Isa region. A slowly weakening ridge extends along the east Queensland coast.

Southeast Gulf, South of Cape Keer-Weer:

Wednesday until midnight: Winds: Variable 5 to 10 knots with inshore sea breezes 10 to 15 knots. Seas: 0.7 metres. Swell: Less than 1.5 metres. Isolated showers and thunderstorms.

Thursday: Winds: E to NE 5 to 10 knots, reaching 10 to 15 knots at times during the morning, becoming variable 5 to 10 knots in the afternoon. Inshore afternoon sea breezes 10 to 15 knots. Seas: 1.2 metres. Swell: Less than 1.5 metres. Isolated showers and thunderstorms.

Friday: Winds: SE to NE 10 to 15 knots, reaching 15 to 20 knots north of Kowanyama in the morning. Inshore afternoon sea breezes 10 to 15 knots.

Saturday: Winds: SE to NE 10 to 15 knots, reaching 15 to 20 knots at times. Inshore afternoon sea breezes 10 to 15 knots.
