Herbert and Lower Burdekin Forecast

No warnings for Queensland

Forecast issued at 5:00 am EST on Friday 22 June 2018.

Weather Situation

A ridge of high pressure extends across southern Australia and into the southern Tasman Sea. Another ridge extends along the east coast of Queensland. These features will maintain fine and mostly sunny conditions through most of Queensland over the next few days, although winds over eastern districts will tend more to the southeast, with shower activity along or near much of the east coast. An upper level trough will develop over central Australia and move slowly eastwards towards western Queensland over the weekend and early next week, although dry air in the low levels across western Queensland will limit its impact in the short term to just a few showers over the west and some high cloud over northwest, central and eventually southeast parts of the state.

Forecast for the rest of Friday

Partly cloudy. Medium (50%) chance of showers along the coastal fringe, slight (20%) chance elsewhere. Light winds becoming easterly 15 to 25 km/h in the morning then becoming light in the evening. Daytime maximum temperatures in the low to mid 20s.
