Forecast issued at 4:15 pm EST on Monday 2 October 2023.

Weather Situation

A high in the eastern Coral Sea extends a ridge over most of Queensland. This high will drift slowly east over the next few days while a new high in the Tasman Sea builds and maintains the ridge. A significant trough moving east over southern Australia will approach the far southwest of the state on Tuesday and will sweep across the southern interior on Wednesday, increasing the temperatures and leading to gusty winds and elevated fire dangers about the interior and west. The trough will move east across southeastern Queensland on Thursday and is expected to clear off the southeast coast by late Thursday.
