Weather Situation

A slow moving high pressure system over southeastern Australia will continue to weaken through the remainder of today and Friday. A new, weak high pressure system will develop over the southern Coral Sea over the weekend. Moist onshore winds about the east tropical coast will lead to some showers and drizzle areas throughout the forecast period. Fine and mostly sunny conditions will persist over much of the remainder of the state, with some early frost patches expected over the southern and central interior. Daytime temperatures will increase further over the interior and southeast of the state from Friday and these warm June temperatures will persist into early next week.

Partly cloudy. Slight (20%) chance of a light shower in the north, mostly about the coastal fringe. Winds east to northeasterly 15 to 25 km/h.

Friday 23 June

Partly cloudy. Slight (20%) chance of a shower. Winds east to southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h becoming light before dawn then becoming easterly 15 to 25 km/h in the morning. Overnight temperatures falling to between 9 and 15 with daytime temperatures reaching the low to mid 20s.
