A weak pressure gradient extends over the Gulf waters. A tropical low and associated trough developing over the Arafura Sea are forecast to move southwards near the western Gulf waters later this week.

- Easterly 10 to 15 knots, reaching up to 20 knots offshore during the morning and early afternoon. Winds turning northeasterly during the morning.
