A weak ridge extends along the east coast of Queensland. A new high will move into the Tasman Sea on Tuesday and strengthen the coastal ridge.

Monday until midnight: Winds: E to SE 5 to 10 knots, inshore afternoon NE sea breezes at 10 to 15 knots. Seas: 0.7 metres. Swell: Less than 1.5 metres. Isolated showers, isolated thunderstorms near coast this afternoon and evening.

Tuesday: Winds: SE 15 to 20 knots, lighter winds inshore early. SE winds increasing to 20 to 25 knots in the evening. Seas: 1.6 increasing to 2 metres. Swell: Less than 1.5 metres. Isolated showers.

Wednesday: Winds: SE 20 to 25 knots, lighter winds inshore early.

Thursday: Winds: SE 20 to 25 knots, lighter winds inshore early.
