Weather Situation

A high [1018 hPa] over the southern Queensland interior will move slowly eastwards into the southern Coral Sea by Wednesday. A trough is expected to move northeast across Queensland during Wednesday, before moving across the southern Queensland coast during Thursday morning. A surface low is expected to develop off the northern New South Wales coast on Friday before moving to the east.

Wednesday until midnight: Winds: Variable 5 to 10 knots early, tending N to NE 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon and reaching N to NW 15 to 20 knots in the evening. Seas: 0.7 to 1.2 metres, increasing to 1.7 metres in the evening. Swell: Less than 1.5 metres. Rain areas developing.

Thursday: Winds: N to NW 20 to 25 knots, ahead of a 15 to 20 knots W to SW change during the morning. Seas: 1.7 to 2.2 metres. Swell: Less than 1.5 metres. Rain areas easing early.
