Fire Weather Warning
for the Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego forecast districts

Issued at 5:06 pm EST on Tuesday 26 September 2017.

Weather Situation

A strong trough will push northeast into Queensland Wednesday evening. A hot and dry air mass will combine with fresh to strong and gusty northwesterly winds east of the trough to produce Severe Fire Dangers over the Maranoa and Warrego, and Channel Country districts.

For Wednesday 27 September:

Severe Fire Danger is forecast for the following forecast districts:
Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego

The Rural Fire Service Queensland advises you to:

  • Action your Bushfire Survival Plan now.
  • Monitor the fire and weather situation through your local radio station, www.ruralfire.qld.gov.au and www.bom.gov.au.
  • Call 000 (Triple Zero) in an emergency.
