Fire Weather Warning
for the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Maranoa and Warrego, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Wide Bay and Burnett forecast districts

Issued at 4:02 pm EST on Friday 13 December 2019.

Weather Situation

Strong and gusty winds behind a trough, with hot and dry air, are enhancing fire conditions to Severe in the Maranoa and Warrego, Darling Downs and Granite Belt, Central Highlands and Coalfields, and Wide Bay and Burnett.

Isolated pockets of Extreme fire danger are possible through the southern Central Highlands & Coalfields and western Wide Bay & Burnett district, associated with stronger winds. Locally Severe conditions are also possible in northern parts of the Central West district associated with the trough and strong winds.

Gusty winds ease on Saturday, but dry air and hot temperatures continue to produce Severe fire dangers through the Darling Downs and Granite Belt district, and Central Highlands and Coalfields districts.

Isolated pockets of Severe fire danger are possible through the Maranoa and Warrego and Central west districts on Saturday.
