Minor Flood Warning for the lower Diamantina River

Flood Warning Number: 45

Minor flood levels on the lower Diamantina River at Birdsville continue to fall very slowly.

On Friday morning the Diamantina River Bridge approach was still affected by floodwaters. Road users are advised to follow the instruction of local authorities.

No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days.

Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes:

Minor flooding is easing along the lower Diamantina River.

The Diamantina River at Birdsville is currently at 4.55 metres (minor flood) and falling very slowly. The Diamantina River at Birdsville will continue to slowly ease, and expected to remain above the minor flood level (4.00 m) until later this weekend or early next week.
