Flood Warning for the Diamantina River

Flood Warning Number: 47

Flood levels continue along the Diamantina River.

No significant rainfall is expected until Sunday and Monday when another trough is likely to bring widespread rain and showers across the catchment.

Diamantina River to Diamantina Lakes:

Moderate flood levels are falling slowly on the Diamantina River at Diamantina Lakes.

Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes:

Minor flood levels are expected to be continuing to rise slowly on the Diamantina River at Monkira.

The Diamantina River at Birdsville was at 3.40 metres and steady on Thursday morning. The river level will remain below the minor flood level (4.0 m) for at least the next few days. Renewed rises are possible in the next few weeks as upstream floodwaters arrive.
