Flood Warning for the Fitzroy River

MINOR FLOOD WARNING FOR THE LOWER DAWSON AND FITZROY RIVERS

Minor flood levels continue along the lower Dawson River. River rises are occurring on the Fitzroy River.

No significant rainfall is expected over the next few days.

DAWSON RIVER TO THEODORE:

River levels remain below the minor flood level and will continue to ease during the next few days.

DAWSON RIVER DOWNSTREAM OF THEODORE:

River levels peaked at Moura during Saturday and are falling. Minor flood levels continue to slowly rise downstream between Baralaba and Beckers.

ISAAC RIVER:

River levels at Yatton eased below minor during Saturday.

MACKENZIE RIVER:

River levels continue to ease below minor between Tartrus and Coolmaringa.

FITZROY RIVER:

River levels at Riverslea peaked at 12.92 metres at about 2pm Saturday, with river levels falling during Sunday morning. Slow river rises are occurring downstream through to Rockhampton.

Predicted River Heights/Flows:

DAWSON RIVER at:

TAROOM: River levels to remain below the minor flood level.

THEODORE: River levels to remain below the minor flood level.

MOURA (Manual gauge): River levels to slowly ease during the next few days.

BARALABA (Manual gauge): Minor flood levels expected to peak about 5.25 metres during Sunday afternoon or evening.

ISAAC RIVER at:

YATTON: River levels to remain below the minor flood level.

FITZROY RIVER:

YAAMBA: Exceed the minor flood level (9.0 metres) during Sunday. Reach a minor flood peak around 9.6 metres during Monday morning.

ROCKHAMPTON: River level rises are expected to remain below the minor flood level (7.0 metres), and reach around 4.7 to 5.0 metres during Monday afternoon.

Predictions will be refined once upstream peaks are observed.
