Flood Warning for the Fitzroy River

MODERATE FLOOD WARNING FOR THE ISAAC RIVER, AND

MINOR FLOOD WARNING FOR THE MACKENZIE AND DAWSON RIVERS

River levels at Tartrus on the Mackenzie River will begin to ease on Thursday evening following a minor flood peak around midday Thursday.

No significant rainfall is expected over the next few days.

DAWSON RIVER TO THEODORE:

River levels continue to ease at Tarana Crossing. Minor flood levels are easing at Taroom. River levels are falling slowly at Glebe Weir but rising downstream to Theodore.

DAWSON RIVER DOWNSTREAM OF THEODORE:

River levels are rising at Moura and further downstream between Bindaree and Beckers.

ISAAC RIVER:

Moderate flood levels continue to ease at Yatton.

MACKENZIE RIVER TO TARTRUS:

Minor flood levels at Tartrus are steady around a peak of approximately 11.5 metres. Downstream, river levels are rising at Coolmaringa but remain below the minor flood level.

FITZROY RIVER:

River levels are rising slowly at Riverslea, but are relatively steady downstream between The Gap and Wattlebank. River levels are rising at South Yaamba.

Predicted River Heights/Flows:

DAWSON RIVER at:

TAROOM: River levels will fall below the minor flood level (4.5 metres) late Thursday evening.

THEODORE: Minor flood levels (8.0 metres) are possible late Friday.

MOURA: Minor flood levels (6.0 metres) are possible on Saturday.

BARALABA (Manual gauge): Minor flood levels are expected to continue rising into the weekend.

Predictions will be refined for Moura and Baralaba once upstream peaks are observed.

ISAAC RIVER at:

YATTON: River levels will continue to ease over the next few days.

MACKENZIE RIVER at:

TARTRUS: River levels will begin to ease on Thursday evening, following a minor flood peak of 11.53 metres recorded around midday Thursday.

River levels on the Fitzroy River will rise over the next few days, but levels at Rockhampton will remain below the minor flood level (7.0 metres).
