Minor Flood Warning for the Moonie River

Flood Warning Number: 4

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT FLINTON DURING THE WEEKEND INTO MONDAY.

No significant rainfall totals were recorded in the catchment in the 24hr to 9am Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms are possible in the catchment for the next few days.

Moonie River to Flinton:

The flood peak is currently downstream of Southwood and approaching Flinton.

The Moonie River at Flinton is currently at 2.45 metres and rising. The river level at Flinton may exceed the minor flood level (3.00 m) during the weekend.

Moonie River downstream of Flinton:

Minor flooding is expected to be occurring along the lower Moonie River.

There are no current river level observations available for Nindigully, but the river levels are expected to be around the minor flood level (2.20 metres). The river level at Nindigully is expected to remain around the minor flood level (2.20 m) during Saturday.

There are no current river level observations available for Thallon Bridge, but the river level is expected to be below the minor flood level (4.00 m). The river level at Thallon Bridge may exceed the minor flood level (4.00 m) during Sunday into Monday.
