HUNGERFORD LIKELY TO REMAIN ABOVE MINOR OVER THE WEEKEND

RENEWED RISES EXPECTED AT EULO WITH MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE OVER THE WEEKEND

The main flood peak along the Paroo River is around Hungerford.

Renewed river level rises and minor flooding have been recorded along the upper Paroo River at Humeburn which is expected to cause renewed river level rises downstream.

No significant rainfall was recorded in the 48 hours to 9:00 am Friday. No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days.

Paroo River to Eulo:

Renewed rises and minor flooding have been recorded along the upper Paroo River at Humeburn since late Wednesday morning, which is expected to cause renewed rises with possible minor flooding downstream. Minor flooding at Humeburn peaked overnight Thursday and is currently falling.

No current river level observations are available for the Paroo River at Eulo, however, the river level is estimated to be below the minor flood level (2.60 m) with renewed rises occurring. Renewed river level rises are expected along the Paroo River at Eulo over the weekend as upstream floodwaters arrive, with rises around the minor flood level (2.60 m) possible.

Paroo River downstream of Eulo:

Minor flooding is continuing along the Paroo River downstream of Eulo. The main flood peak is around the Hungerford area.

The Paroo River at Hungerford is currently at 1.40 metres and steady, with minor flooding. The Paroo River at Hungerford is likely to remain above the minor flood level (1.00 m) during the weekend.
