Minor Flood Warning for the Thomson River and Cooper Creek

MINOR FLOOD LEVELS ARE PEAKING AT WINDORAH DURING MONDAY

Minor flooding continues along the lower Thomson River and Cooper Creek during Monday.

No significant rainfall is forecast over the next few days.

Thomson River:

Minor flooding is continuing along the Thomson River downstream of Longreach.

There are no river level observations currently available at Stonehenge manual station, but based on the nearby automatic station the river level is expected to be slightly above the minor flood level (2.00 m) and falling. The river level at Stonehenge is expected to fall below the minor flood level (2.00 m) by Monday evening.

The Thomson River at Jundah is currently at 2.77 metres and falling slowly. The river level at Jundah is likely to remain above the minor flood level (2.50 m) for the next few days.

Cooper Creek:

Minor flooding is occurring along the Cooper Creek.

The Cooper Creek at Windorah (Main Channel) is currently at 3.27 metres and steady. Creek levels at Windorah (Main Channel) are expected to remain above the minor flood level (3.00 m) for the next few days.
