Minor Flood Warning for the Warrego River (QLD)

MINOR FLOODING EASING BETWEEN ROCKY AND CUNNAMULLA BRIDGE

The main flood peak along the lower Warrego River has now passed through the Rocky area.

Rainfall earlier this week caused renewed river level rises and minor flooding upstream of Charleville. A below minor flood peak is expected at Charleville overnight Friday into Saturday, with river level rises extending downstream of Charleville over the weekend.

No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days.

Warrego River to Charleville:

Minor flooding is easing along the Warrego River at The 27 Mile Garden following a peak just below the moderate flood level Thursday evening.

The Warrego River at Charleville is currently at 2.02 metres and rising, below the minor flood level (4.00 m). A below minor peak is expected in the Warrego River at Charleville overnight Friday into Saturday.

Langlo and Ward Rivers:

Minor flooding is occurring along the Langlo River at Warilda.

Warrego River downstream of Charleville:

Renewed river level rises in the Charleville area will move downstream over the weekend. In the lower Warrego River, minor flooding is easing between Cunnamulla Bridge and Rocky.

No manual observations are available for Cunnamulla Bridge, however based on the nearby automatic gauge, the river level at Cunnamulla Bridge is estimated to be below the moderate flood level (7.00 m) and falling. The river level will continue to ease over the next few days but is likely to remain above the minor flood level (6.00 m) over the weekend and into the early part of next week.

The Warrego River at Rocky peaked around 4.20 metres Thursday morning. As of late Friday morning, the river level is expected to be below the moderate flood level (4.00 m) and falling. The Warrego River at Rocky is expected to remain above the minor flood level (2.50 m) until at least early next week.
