Yimin Ma

Research Scientist

Current work and responsibilities

Yimin Ma works in the team responsible for maintaining and developing models for Bureau of Meteorology's operational forecasts. He currently focuses on improvements to the parameterisations of momentum, heat and moisture exchanges between the air and the ocean, and between the land eco–system and the atmosphere. He is interested in how the parameterisations affect predictions of near surface meteorological fields that greatly influence people's daily life.

Yimin is also interested in studies on numerical simulation of tropical cyclones.
