Annual Workshop | 5–9 December
For nearly 25 years, the Bureau of Meteorology organised an annual modelling workshop. The workshop brings together international speakers and those
working in a topical area at the Bureau, CSIRO, universities and other research organisations.
In 2009, the Bureau and World Meteorological Organization brought the 5th International Conference on Data Assimilation to Melbourne. This year, modellers
from within Australia and overseas experts working on data assimilation (DA) will come together again. The 2016 Workshop will be held at the Bureau of Meteorology,
700 Collins Street, Melbourne 5—9 December (Monday to Friday).
Student Workshop | 1–2 December
The Data Assimilation workshop will be preceeded by a DA student workshop on 1–2 December (Thursday and Friday) – another important meeting to prepare our nation for the future.
The aim of the intensive 2 day program is that participants will gain a broad understanding of the major methodological approaches to data assimilation for high dimensional multi-scale geophysical applications.
Researchers interested in data assimilation are urged to register for one or both of these workshops.
Register now! or for any further information or registration, please email Val Jemmeson.
