Bureau of Meteorology Annual R&D Workshop

Forecasting for the Future: New science for improved weather, water, ocean and climate services

25-29 November 2019

Melbourne, Australia


Registration is now open to attend the Bureau of Meteorology Annual R&D Workshop 2019. The plenary sessions of the workshop will be held at the Savoy Hotel on Little Collins, Melbourne, Australia from 25-28 November 2019. Session topics include:

  • Seamless Forecasting
  • High Performance Computing
  • Climate
  • Applications
  • Nowcasting
  • Impact Forecasting
  • Observations
  • Short-range Forecasting
  • Machine Learning

The final day of the workshop, Friday 29 November, will be held at the Bureau's Melbourne Office and will involve informal discussions expanding on the workshop topics.

The program will feature keynote speakers from organisations including the U.S. National Weather Service, the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, Deutscher Wetterdienst and NASA, amongst others. Further details on the keynote speakers can be found at the workshop website.

Registrations are limited due to space, so please register as soon as possible via the workshop website below. We encourage you to register for individual days if you do not intend to attend for the full week.
