Weather Situation

A trough of low pressure near a line Giles to Port Augusta to Mount Gambier will gradually move northeastwards to reach the far northeast corner Friday evening. A new high will develop south of the Bight late Saturday, then move over the southern Tasman Sea on Sunday. A low is expected to develop near western Bass Strait late Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday

Cloudy. Medium (60%) chance of showers, most likely later this evening. Winds easterly 15 to 25 km/h tending northeasterly 15 to 20 km/h in the late evening.

Friday 29 January

Partly cloudy. High (80%) chance of showers near the eastern border, medium (50%) chance elsewhere. The chance of a thunderstorm near the eastern border in the morning and early afternoon. Winds northeasterly 15 to 20 km/h becoming light early in the morning then becoming northwest to southwesterly 15 to 25 km/h in the middle of the day. Overnight temperatures falling to around 17 with daytime temperatures reaching the mid to high 20s.
