Weather Situation

A high pressure ridge lies over the north of the State. A cold front moving across the south this evening will move away to the east early Saturday morning. A high pressure system will move over the Bight late Saturday and is then expected to move slowly northeastwards early next week. Another cold front will move across from the west mid to late next week.

Forecast for the rest of Friday

Cloudy. Very high (near 100%) chance of rain extending throughout later this evening, with possible hail in the south later tonight. The chance of a thunderstorm near the coast early this evening. Winds northwesterly 25 to 40 km/h tending westerly 25 to 35 km/h in the evening.

Saturday 18 August

Partly cloudy. Very high (90%) chance of showers, most likely in the morning and afternoon. The chance of a thunderstorm in the morning and afternoon. Possible hail. Winds west to northwesterly 25 to 40 km/h turning southwesterly 35 to 55 km/h in the late morning and early afternoon. Overnight temperatures falling to between 5 and 8 with daytime temperatures reaching around 12.
