Weather Situation

A low near Tasmania will move southeastwards to be over the southern Tasman Sea on Monday, with a weak high pressure ridge to follow over South Australia. Another low and associated trough will develop in the far west of the State late Monday or early Tuesday, and then move eastwards, with this low reaching the eastern States later Wednesday, followed by a ridge of high pressure developing to the south of the Bight. A strong high pressure system will develop south of the Bight late in the week.

Mostly clear. Winds southeast to southwesterly 25 to 35 km/h tending southeasterly in the late evening.

Monday 17 December

Partly cloudy. Patchy fog south of Streaky Bay in the early morning. Slight (30%) chance of a shower west of Ceduna, most likely in the afternoon and evening. The chance of a thunderstorm west of about Nullarbor, extending to areas west of Ceduna in the afternoon or evening. Areas of raised dust west of Nullarbor from the late morning. Becoming very hot near the western border. Winds easterly 25 to 35 km/h tending northeasterly 25 to 40 km/h in the morning then tending northeast to southeasterly in the early afternoon. Overnight temperatures falling to between 14 and 18 with daytime temperatures reaching 32 to 41.

Cloudy. Slight (20%) chance of a shower, most likely in the morning. Winds southwesterly 20 to 25 km/h turning southerly 20 to 30 km/h during the morning. Overnight temperatures falling to around 16 with daytime temperatures reaching the low to mid 20s.
