Fire Weather Warning
for the North West Pastoral, West Coast, Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Mount Lofty Ranges, Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island and Lower South East forecast districts

Issued at 4:22 am CDT on Thursday 24 October 2019.

Weather Situation

Hot to very hot, dry and windy. North to northwesterly winds 30-50 km/h, stronger in the west, ahead of a strong and squally southwesterly change at 40-60 km/h with gusts of 70-85 km/h, which will move rapidly across the State during the day, crossing Eyre Peninsula during the afternoon and reaching the Adelaide area in the evening. Gusty thunderstorms affecting most districts.

Severe Fire Danger is forecast for the following forecast districts:
North West Pastoral, West Coast, Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Mount Lofty Ranges, Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island and Lower South East

The Country Fire Service advises you to:

  • Action your Bushfire Survival Plan now.
  • Monitor the fire and weather situation through your local radio station, www.cfs.sa.gov.au, and www.bom.gov.au.
  • Call 000 (Triple Zero) in an emergency.
