|
| SILO provides a rich source of meteorological and agricultural data of particular interest to anyone involved in the agricultural arena. All meteorological products are brought to you by the Bureau of Meteorology. | |
| Meteogram Outlook | |
| 'Meteograms' allow you to generate weather guidance for any location around Australia. Users click on their spot on the state map, which then generates a graph of weather variables from the latest computer model output e.g. showing temperature, wind, precipitation over the coming days. | |
| Weather Reports | |
| The Weather Reports provide you access to the most current weather forecast and current observations , warnings, the latest satellite images as well as the popular radar images and mean sea level analysis and prognostic charts. | |
| Rainfall Information | |
| Rainfall information for your particular area of interest for short timeframes. Create your own rainfall report for your area of interest. Real-time rainfall stations Australia-wide are available as maps, data files and gridded data sets for daily and monthly periods as well as historical information for periods longer than one month e.g. last 3 months, 6 months, etc. |
|
| Temperature Information | |
| Real-time daily temperature information is available for stations Australia-wide in the form of maps, data files and gridded data sets. Create your own climate report for your area of interest. Data files also contain air pressure, temperature, dew point temperature and cloud amount readings for 9am & 3pm. From these data files, humidity and vapour pressure deficit maps will be created and available in the future. |
|
| The Drought Statement and Rainfall Deficiency Maps | |
| The Drought product provided by the Bureau of Meteorology includes rainfall deficiency maps to locate the driest parts of the country for the period shown. The latest Drought Statement describes the features of current rainfall deficiencies. | |
| The Seasonal Climate Outlook | |
| The Seasonal Climate Outlook provides rainfall and temperature prediction information for periods of 3 months or longer. This rainfall and temperature prediction information is provided in terms of chance or probability. It also provides information on current conditions and atmosphere in the future. | |
| Patched Point Dataset | |
| Combined with original measurements by the Bureau of Meteorology for a particular meteorological station and using interpolation methods to fill in any missing data values in the record, patched point datasets provide continuous historical meteorological data including daily rainfall, minimum and maximum temperatures, radiation, evaporation and vapour pressure. | |
| Data Drill | |
| Derived from actual recorded data provided by the Bureau of Meteorology and computed by splining and kriging techniques, synthetic meteorological data used in the Data Drill are available for any location in Australia. | |
| Solar Radiation | |
| Solar Radiation information (also called daily solar exposure) from the Bureau of Meteorology is a measure of daily incoming solar energy. These estimates are derived daily from satellite data as megajoules per square metre, with data in the format of maps, grids and point values. The latest solar radiation map is free. All other solar radiation data for the previous 7 days is available via subscription from the Bureau's web site. | |
| Radar Imagery | |
| Weather watch radar images indicate intensity and movement of rainfall within the range of the radar. Radars are located across the country and updated approximately every 10 minutes. Radar Images classed under the Bureau of Meteorology Basic Product Set are FREE and available at URL : http://www.bom.gov.au/silo/radarImages.shtml Subscription to images not in the Basic Product Set is available via the Bureau's web site. |
