'Meteograms' allow you to generate weather guidance for any location around Australia. Users click on their spot on the state map, which then generates a graph of weather variables from the latest computer model output e.g. showing temperature, wind, precipitation over the coming days. Choose from 4 different computer models, depending on the period/level of detail required - one model goes to 7 days ahead. See sample meteogram . Meteograms are used for getting the latest computer weather guidance
- short term decision making on farm eg hay making, sowing, harvesting, shearing times, stock handling, crop spraying, structural repairs. Also for planning days when to play golf instead! - recreational use: sailplanes, sailing, - planning construction activities - planning deliveries of weather sensitive materials As well as a graph, output is also available as numbers only for each point - see sample meteogram data . Gridded data files from which the meteograms are produced are available via the Bureau's Registered User Services as a subscription service - check the description of the model features. Meteograms are guidance material only and do not represent the Bureau's 'official' weather forecasts to the public. Explanatory text and a link to current Bureau warnings have been included on the site. 12 months subscription to meteograms will also require you to sign an access agreement (see sample linked) under terms outlined in the Access Regime. |
