An area of high pressure over the Tasman Sea, paired with a large and near stationary low pressure system south of the Bight, direct a north to northeasterly stream over Tasmania. A trough will cross the state this afternoon and evening from the northwest, before weakening. Moist east to northeasterly winds will develop on Friday, before tending easterly on Saturday as a low pressure system develops near the New South Wales coast, then moves close to the northeast of Tasmania on Sunday
