Weather Situation

A cold front crosses Tasmania on Friday morning bringing a cooler broad westerly flow. The westerly wind builds on Saturday, especially about the south, as a trough passes nearby. Winds gradually shift northwesterly by Sunday afternoon as a high builds to the north of the state. A low slowly approaches the state from the west on Monday.

Partly cloudy. Medium chance of showers, most likely later tonight. Winds northwesterly 20 to 30 km/h increasing to 25 to 35 km/h in the late evening.

Friday 9 June

Cloudy. Very high chance of showers. The chance of a thunderstorm in the morning and afternoon. Possible small hail in the late morning and afternoon. Winds northwesterly 25 to 40 km/h increasing to 35 to 50 km/h before dawn then tending westerly early in the morning. Overnight temperatures falling to around 9 with daytime temperatures reaching around 14.
