Weather Situation

A low pressure system about eastern Bass Strait will move away over the Tasman Sea this evening, as a broad ridge of high pressure extends over Tasmania. Northwesterly winds are expected to strengthen on Friday ahead of a cold front that will cross the state during the afternoon and evening, with a cooler, strong westerly flow to follow for Saturday and Sunday as a high builds over the Bight. The high will slowly approach the Tasmania during Monday.
