Weather Situation

An approaching cold front directs a northerly flow over the state today. The front will approach the west this evening and cross Tasmania early Saturday morning, bringing a cold, strong and gusty west to southwesterly stream with a complex area of low pressure developing south of Tasmania. The next cold front will cross Tasmania during the day on Sunday as a low moves near the state. A high will build to the south of the Bight during Monday, directing an easing southwesterly stream across Tasmania on Monday and Tuesday.

Mostly clear. Winds northerly 20 to 25 km/h turning northeasterly 25 to 40 km/h in the evening.

Saturday 4 April

Cloudy. Very high (95%) chance of showers. The chance of a thunderstorm, with possible hail and heavy falls in the early morning. Winds northeasterly 25 to 35 km/h shifting westerly early in the morning then increasing to 35 to 55 km/h in the middle of the day. Overnight temperatures falling to around 13 with daytime temperatures reaching around 18.
