A northwesterly airstream strengthening ahead of an approaching cold front, to cross Thursday afternoon. A ridge of high pressure is then expected to drift over the state on Friday, but will be short lived as another cold front is forecast to cross early Saturday. A cooler southwesterly airstream then follows on Saturday, easing and tending northwesterly on Sunday as a ridge crosses. A strong cold front moves over Tasmania on Monday morning.
