Weather Situation

A northwesterly stream over Tasmania will strengthen tomorrow ahead of a cold front, which will cross Tasmania in the afternoon bearing a cold southwesterly flow in its wake. The flow will tend west to northwesterly on Saturday before strengthening on Sunday ahead of another front which will cross the state later in the day. On Monday, a southwesterly flow will slowly ease as a high moves to the north of Tasmania.

Partly cloudy. Winds north to northwesterly 15 to 25 km/h.

Friday 23 June

Cloudy. Very high (90%) chance of showers, most likely in the afternoon and evening. Snow falling above 500 metres late in the evening. Winds north to northwesterly 25 to 40 km/h turning westerly 30 to 45 km/h in the early afternoon. Overnight temperatures falling to between zero and 3 with daytime temperatures reaching between 10 and 14.
