Weather Situation

A weak cold front over Tasmania will move to the east tonight, in a westerly flow, as a high moves south of South Australia. The high will move to the northwest of Tasmania during Wednesday and weaken while a new high centre will develop east of the state. This high will track eastwards over the Tasman Sea during Thursday. The next cold front will approach the west of Tasmania late Thursday before weakening and crossing the state early Friday as a ridge extends to the north. Another cold front will cross Tasmania later Saturday with westerly winds shifting southerly.

Mostly clear. Winds west to northwesterly 20 to 30 km/h decreasing to 15 to 20 km/h in the evening.

Wednesday 24 October

Partly cloudy. Areas of frost in the north in the early morning. Light winds becoming westerly 15 to 20 km/h in the morning then becoming light in the middle of the day. Overnight temperatures falling to between 1 and 4 with daytime temperatures reaching between 13 and 16.
