Weather Situation

A high pressure system currently just west of Tasmania is expected to continue moving southeast over coming days, extending a ridge over Tasmania early tomorrow as it passes just south of the state, with the ridge to move east tomorrow as a cold front crosses the Bight. This front will then weaken as it continues to approach the state on Wednesday, then slowly dissipate over the west coast on Thursday. Another cold front embedded in a northwesterly stream is then expected on Friday.

Partly cloudy. Medium (40%) chance of light showers. Snow possible above 1200 metres. Winds southerly 20 to 30 km/h.

Tuesday 19 June

Mostly sunny. Morning frost inland. Slight (20%) chance of drizzle near the coast. Winds south to southwesterly 15 to 25 km/h tending south to southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h in the morning then becoming light in the middle of the day. Overnight temperatures falling to between minus 1 and 5 above zero with daytime temperatures reaching between 8 and 14.
