Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge to the south of Tasmania will weaken overnight as a high centre to the east slowly moves away. A trough and cold front will approach across the Bight during tomorrow before crossing Tasmania on Thursday afternoon and evening. The trough is expected to linger about the northeast of the state on Friday, while a high passing to the south of the Bight directs a southwest to southeasterly flow over the state. This high is then expected to pass to the south of Tasmania during Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday
Mostly clear. Isolated showers, more frequent in the southeast at first this evening with locally heavy falls possible. Winds north to northwesterly averaging 10 to 20 km/h tending northerly and light later in the evening.
Wednesday 15 February
Partly cloudy. The chance of fog early in the morning. Winds northeasterly averaging 10 to 20 km/h. Overnight temperatures falling to between 8 and 15 with daytime temperatures reaching 20 to 25.
