Weather Situation

A high to the west of Tasmania extends a ridge over the south of the state today and Tuesday, while a trough lingers about the north. The high centre will slowly pass to the south during Wednesday and Thursday, and lie in the Tasman Sea on Friday. A secondary high centre will develop to the southwest of Tasmania during Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Monday

Partly cloudy. Medium (40%) chance of showers, most likely later this evening. Winds northwest to southwesterly 25 to 35 km/h tending northeast to southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h in the late evening.

Tuesday 18 January

Cloudy. Medium (60%) chance of showers. Winds northeast to southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h becoming light before dawn then becoming east to southeasterly 20 to 30 km/h in the morning. Overnight temperatures falling to between 9 and 13 with daytime temperatures reaching between 16 and 23.
