Weather Situation

A broad and complex area of low pressure lies to the south and west of Tasmania. The system will track eastwards today and a weak low and associated cold front will cross the west coast tonight. A colder southwesterly stream will develop during Monday morning, then tend westerly on Tuesday as a high moves over Victoria. The high is expected to move over the Tasman Sea early Wednesday, while an area of low pressure over the Bight moves southeastwards, forecast to lie over Tasmania in the evening.

Cloudy. Very high (90%) chance of showers. Snow falling above 1300 metres. The chance of a thunderstorm with gusty winds. Winds northwesterly 35 to 50 km/h. Daytime maximum temperatures between 10 and 17.

Light winds becoming northeast to southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h during the afternoon then tending northwest to southwesterly during the evening. Overnight temperatures falling to between minus 1 and 3 above zero with daytime temperatures reaching between 10 and 16.
