Weather Situation

A high northeast of Tasmania extends a ridge to a second centre south of Adelaide while while a weakening cold front will clear the east of the state late this evening. The high centre to the east is expected to strengthen to become the dominant influence on the weather over Tasmania tomorrow. The high should remain almost stationary over the Tasman Sea through the weekend, maintaining a northerly airflow as a trough and weakening cold front approach across the Bight.

Strong wind warning for Banks Strait and Franklin Sound, East of Flinders Island, South East Coast and South West Coast

Small craft alert for South West Lakes

The wind warning for Central West Coast has been cancelled
