Fire Weather Warning
for the Mallee, Wimmera, North Central, South West and Central forecast districts

Issued at 4:02 pm EDT on Saturday 17 March 2018.

Weather Situation

Warm to hot and dry conditions this afternoon with fresh to strong and gusty north to northwesterly winds over western and central areas. A vigorous westerly change will cross the State on Sunday with cool and very dry conditions. Fire danger will remain elevated Sunday with strong and gusty westerly winds following the change.

For the rest of Saturday 17 March:

Severe Fire Danger in the following forecast districts:
Mallee, Wimmera, North Central, South West and Central

The Fire Weather Warning for the Northern Country forecast district has been cancelled.

For Sunday 18 March:

Severe Fire Danger is forecast for the following forecast districts:
South West and Central

The CFA advises that you:

  • Action your Bushfire Survival Plan now.
  • Monitor the fire and weather situation through your local radio station, and
  • Call 000 (Triple Zero) in an emergency.

If you are in an area of severe fire danger the CFA recommends that you

  • Prepare your bushfire survival kit and finalise your plans.
