Severe Weather Warning
for heavy rainfall
for people in the North East forecast district
Issued at 3:37 pm EST on Saturday 18 April 2015.
Heavy rain over northeastern Victoria will clear eastwards early this evening.
Heavy rain may lead to FLASH FLOODING over far eastern parts of the North East forecast district early this evening.
The Severe Weather Warning for the East Gippsland forecast district has been cancelled, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
- Keep clear of fallen power lines.
- Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
- Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
- Beware of fallen trees or debris on the road.
For emergency help in floods and storms, ring your local SES Unit on 132 500.
The next warning will be issued by 11:00 pm EST Saturday.
