Weather Situation:
A TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING is current for the Cocos (Keeling) Islands. For the
latest information refer to the latest Tropical Cyclone Advice and Track map at

A tropical low is located approximately 95km to northwest of the Cocos
(Keeling) Islands and is expected develop into a tropical cyclone by early
Saturday afternoon. It will continue to move slowly to the southwest,
eventually tracking away from the Islands by late Saturday evening. Heavy
rainfall that may cause flash flooding as well as damaging winds to 100
kilometres per hour that could cause damage to property are possible during

Showers and squally thunderstorms. Heavy falls and damaging winds up to 100
km/hr possible depending on the movement and development of the tropical low.
Winds: North to northeasterly 20 to 30 knots with gusts to 50 knots possible,
depending on the movement and development of the tropical low.
Seas: 2.0 to 3.0 metres.
Swell 1: East to southeasterly 2.5 to 3.0 metres.
