Weather Situation

A low pressure system lies off the Lower West coast and will weaken as it nears the coast tonight. A ridge of high pressure will develop along the south coast on Wednesday and Thursday, with a high pressure system moving into the Bight on Saturday. A surface trough will develop inland from the west coast on Friday and extend southwards on Saturday.

Partly cloudy. The chance of a thunderstorm in the west. Winds east to southeasterly 20 to 30 km/h decreasing to 15 to 20 km/h in the evening.

Wednesday 17 January

Very hot. Partly cloudy. Slight (30%) chance of a shower in the west. The chance of a thunderstorm in the west. Winds east to northeasterly 15 to 25 km/h tending northwest to northeasterly in the morning then tending east to northeasterly 15 to 20 km/h in the late evening. Overnight temperatures falling to between 19 and 22 with daytime temperatures reaching around 40.
