Weather Situation

A high pressure ridge will lie to the south of the state throughout the forecast period. A trough over central parts of the state extends northeast into the Interior. The trough is extending a branch towards the west coast and a low is expected to form within the trough on Wednesday and move south. The trough and low pressure system will move inland on Thursday as a new ridge arrives on the west coast from the Indian Ocean. A weak cold front will brush past the southwest coast on Friday.

Partly cloudy. Winds southerly 20 to 30 km/h becoming light in the late evening.

Wednesday 7 December

Partly cloudy. Slight (20%) chance of a shower in the west in the late afternoon and evening. Near zero chance of rain elsewhere. The chance of a thunderstorm in the west in the afternoon and evening. Winds southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h turning easterly 25 to 35 km/h during the morning. Overnight temperatures falling to between 9 and 12 with daytime temperatures reaching between 19 and 26.
