Weather Situation

A trough extends from the northwest of the State into the northern and western Gascoyne and then eastward through the Interior. A high pressure ridge is evident through southern and western WA with the centre of the high expected to move south of the State during Friday. A new trough will deepen down the west coast on Friday before moving inland on Saturday. Ex-Tropical Cyclone Lincoln is likely to redevelop into a cyclone to the north of the Pilbara tonight, and could be near the Gascoyne coast later on Saturday, continuing southeast into the inland Gascoyne or Central Wheat Belt on Sunday. A new ridge will strengthen over southern parts of the State from Sunday.

Friday 23 February

Partly cloudy. Winds east to southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h tending east to northeasterly 25 to 35 km/h during the morning. Overnight temperatures falling to between 10 and 14 with daytime temperatures reaching 26 to 33.
