Synoptic Situation
A high pressure ridge lies to the south of the state with a surface trough
inland.
Forecasts:
Wednesday: S/SE winds 13/18 knots easing to S/SW winds 10/15 knots by late
morning. Winds increasing to S/SW 15/20 knots by early afternoon and reaching
20/25 knots by late afternoon. Seas 1.0m to 2.0m. Swell 1.0m to 1.5m.
Swell at Cottesloe: to 0.5m.
Winds on Melville Water: S/SE winds 8/13 knots tending S/SW by late morning.
Winds increasing to S/SW 15/20 knots by mid afternoon before easing to S'ly
10/15 knots during the evening.
Thursday: S/SE winds 18/23 knots easing to 13/18 knots for a period in the
morning. Winds tending S/SW 18/23 knots early afternoon, strengthening to S/SW
20/30 knots during the afternoon. Seas 1.5m to 2.5m. Swell 1.0m to 1.5m.
Friday: S'ly winds 13/18 knots strengthening to S/SW winds 20/30 knots during
the afternoon.
