Minor Flood Warning for the Fitzroy River

Flood Warning Number: 6
Minor flooding is expected to continue in the Fitzroy River catchment during Thursday into Friday.
For the 24 hours to 9 am Thursday, rainfall totals generally less than 50 mm have been recorded in the catchment with isolated falls up to 130mm at Debesa.
For the 24 hours to 9 am Friday, widespread rainfall totals of 15 mm to 30 mm with Isolated higher totals of 50mm are forecast for the Fitzroy River catchment.
Fitzroy River to Fitzroy Crossing:
The Fitzroy River at Fitzroy Crossing is expected to remain below the minor flood level (9.50 m) during Thursday into Friday. Renewed river rises possible based on forecast rainfall.
The Fitzroy River at Fitzroy Crossing is currently at 8.34 metres and rising.
Fitzroy River from Fitzroy Crossing to Noonkanbah:
Minor flooding is expected to continue along the Fitzroy River from Fitzroy Crossing to Noonkanbah during Thursday into Friday.
The Fitzroy River at Noonkanbah is currently at 9.52 metres and steady.
Fitzroy River from Noonkanbah to Willare:
The Fitzroy River at Willare is expected to reach the minor flood level (8.00 m) during Friday morning.
The Fitzroy River at Willare is currently at 7.34 metres and steady.
Flood Safety Advice:
DFES advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is possible and be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch water levels. Travellers need to be aware that road conditions may be adversely affected and travel plans may need to be reconsidered. Do not drive into water of unknown depth and velocity.
