Weather Situation
Maximum temperatures ranging from the high thirties to the mid forties, and overnight minimum temperatures mostly in the low to high twenties.
Extreme heatwave conditions are forecast over the Goldfields and South Interior districts.
Severe heatwave conditions are persisting over much of southern and inland WA, and are gradually easing over western districts as milder onshore flow develops. A further contraction of severe heatwave conditions to the north of the state is expected over the weekend as these milder conditions push further inland.
Severe heatwave conditions have eased in the South West district.
Locations likely to be impacted include Esperance, Kalgoorlie, Kiwirrkurra, Meekatharra, Mount Magnet, Mount Barker, Merredin, Newman, Northam and Port Hedland.
The next heatwave warning will be issued by 2:00pm WST on Saturday 25 January 2025
