Next Meeting
The next WAGOOS meeting date will be advised soon.
The most recent meeting was at 9.30am July 18th 2003 at the University
of WA's Centre for Water Research.
The suggested agenda included:
- Circulate business plan prior to meeting and table
any comments
- Present background on meeting with Crawford Foundation
and solicit comment.
- Present a short overview of the three pilot projects
being developed within IOGOOS and explore potential for WA participation
in projects.
- Discuss WAGOOS representation at IOGOOS meeting
Mombassa, Jan 04.
- Discuss plan to develop an Indian Ocean remote sensing
strategy and work plan.
- Discuss the idea of a NOO project proposal. Discuss
with Neville Smith prior to WAGOOS meeting.
- Discuss the issue of WAGOOS sponsorship describing
present arrangement. Plan an approach to seek additional sponsors.
- Scope out Fisheries Department Indian Ocean initiative
and relate it to WAGOOS. Report this information to WAGOOS meeting.
Arrange fisheries Department Rep. to brief meeting. Propose ways forward
for collaboration.
- Arrange an expert to discuss present monitoring
of Swan River for HAB and explore improvements with support from IOC
HAB/coastal GOOS.
- Present a WAGOOS work plan for second half of 2003
and 2004.
- Discuss NCDIE (North Coast Data and Information
Exchange) project.
- Organize WAGOOS members to support Marai visit in
January 2004 and oceanographic week at Maritime Museum.
