Strategic Research Fund for the Marine
Environment (SRFME)
Structure of SRFME and its Programs SRFME is managed by a Joint Venture Management Committee made up of the joint venture partners listed above. There is also a SRFME Technical Advisory Committee with members having a high level of technical expertise in marine science also drawn from the joint venture partners. A Research Advisory Group will also be convened to help advise on the WA One of the principal ways that SRFME will deliver an enhanced marine research capability to WA is through relocating and recruiting 20 CSIRO marine research staff to Western Australia and by funding the capacity to carry out research by both CSIRO and other WA research providers. The research expertise to be assembled by CSIRO in WA has been planned in order to contribute to research outcomes in areas identified by Western Australian research and management agencies. The expertise will be in areas which complement and strengthen, rather than duplicate existing research capacity in WA. |
