Water Division

Modernisation and Extension of Hydrologic Monitoring Systems Programme

The Australian Government Modernisation and Extension of Hydrologic Monitoring Systems Programme is administered by the Bureau of Meteorology.

The objective of the $80 million Programme is to assist water information collectors to extend and modernise their water information collection, management and data transfer systems.

Organisations that are required to give water information under the Water Regulations 2008 are eligible to apply for funding.

2008/209 funding

The total funding available in 2008/2009 under the Programme is $20 million and applications for these funds closed on Friday 10 October 2008.

The Programme Evaluation Committee is currently assessing the eligible applications and will shortly make a funding recommendation to the Minister for Climate Change and Water.
