Water accounting standard released for comment
The Exposure Draft of Australian Water Accounting Standard 1 (ED AWAS 1) and associated model reports will be launched by the end of October.

Initially developed as part of the process to compile Australia's National Water Account, a predecessor version of ED AWAS 1 is currently being tested in Spain and South Africa. This highlights the Bureau's leading role in developing international standards for water accounting.
Written feedback on the ED AWAS 1 and associated model reports is invited by 30 June 2011.
