National map of probability of exceeding median rainfall
The Bureau's seasonal rainfall outlook for January–March 2012 favours a wetter than usual start to 2012 in western Australia and parts of eastern Australia. However, parts of central and southern Australia are more likely to have a drier start to the year.

The Bureau of Meteorology has published its first Australian water resources assessment. This report will assist all Australians, particularly policy-makers and planners, to understand the current state of the nation's water resources and to assess the impact of past and present water management practices. The Australian Water Resources Assessment 2010 is the first in a regular series.

Version 2.0 of the Australian Hydrological Geospatial Fabric (Geofabric) is now available featuring several new components that increase its usability and function. The Geofabric is a specialised geographic information system that maps the spatial relationships between important hydrologic features such as rivers, lakes, aquifers, catchments and monitoring points.

The Improving Water Information Program Progress Report 2011
This Bureau has made substantial advances in its mission to ensure Australia is better equipped to manage water scarcity, water quality and flood risk through ready access to high quality water information. National Water Information Briefings presentations are now available.
Several of the Bureau's landmark new products were on display at the National Water Information Briefings in capital cities during November and December 2011. The briefings demonstrated the practical value and use of water information to more than 1,000 participants and provided the Bureau with valuable first-hand feedback about key products and services. Slide presentations from these briefings are now available.
