Supporting information

Under the Urban Water Utility Water Access Entitlement, ACTEW abstracts water from the regulated storages of Bendora and Cotter reservoirs, and the unregulated system of the Murrumbidgee River and transfers this water to Mount Stromlo Water Treatment Plant. If capacity is available, it is also possible to transfer treated water from Mount Stromlo Water Treatment Plant into Googong Reservoir via the water reticulation network.

This line item accounts for the total volume of water that was transferred from Mount Stromlo Water Treatment Plant to Googong Reservoir during 2009-10.

Quantification approach

Data source

ActewAGL production records.

Data provider

ActewAGL.

Method

This line item refers to the volume of excess treated water that is transferred from Mount Stromlo Water Treatment Plant (which originated from the Cotter and Murrumbidgee rivers) into the Googong Reservoir via the water distribution system (4,681 ML). ActewAGL’s flow meter measures the release from the water distribution system to Googong Reservoir.

Uncertainty

Derived from measured data. Estimated uncertainty is +/–5%.
