19.8.4 Allocation/claim diversion of regulated flows—urban water access entitlement/arrangement

This line item refers to the amount of water which was diverted from regulated flows under ActewAGL’s Urban Water Access entitlement. A breakdown of the amount of water taken from each reservoir is provided below.

Method

The total volume taken from surface water for urban water supply in the 2009–10 reporting year was calculated as the volume taken from the Cotter and Bendora reservoirs, and the volume taken from Googong Reservoir for the Googong Water Treatment Plant. These numbers are measured values obtained from the ActewAGL production records.

Uncertainty

Derived from measured data. Estimated uncertainty is +/–5%.

Assumptions, approximations and caveats/limitations

The volume of water reported in this line item will include part of the 4,681 ML of excess treated water that is released from Mount Stromlo Water Treatment Plant into Googong Reservoir. This transfer of this water is reported in line item 13.8 Other lumped surface water increase and 20.7 Other lumped water distribution system decreases.
